Matilda from Three Little Sweets

Matilda from Three Little Sweets

Tell us a little about yourself:

I’m married and a mummy to three little girls - 4yrs, 2yrs and 8mths. We live in Canberra, although I have lived in Wollongong, Brisbane, UK and Canada.

I love travelling, have been blessed by the Pope,  and am a huge fan of F1 racing.

What is your brand name or Instagram handle and how did you come up with it?

@three.little.sweets – our eldest daughter’s nickname from me and my husband is ‘sweet pea’, we then called our second ‘sweet meat’ while she was in my belly, the name evolved into ‘Three Little Sweets’ upon the arrival over our third daughter.

What are the products you make?

I started with the intention of making children’s clothes, but it turns out my most popular items currently are adult crops and undies! Children undies are the most requested by my 4 year old daughter (although recently has asked for leggings with pockets.. haha). I’ve also started dabbling in dolls clothing and dolls nappies.

I love sewing, and I believe the sky is the limit, so if you want it, I will (most likely) make it! I’m very easy going, so never be afraid to send a message and ask!

What do you like to do in your spare time when you aren’t sewing up beautiful makes?

Haha, sewing is my ‘spare time’. I love being outdoors, I feel most relaxed at the beach, I love reading (although can’t remember the last time I read a book!), movies and gaming.

What’s your favourite fabric base?

Ooo, this is tough! Although, I think Cotton Lycra. It is such a versatile fabric!! (I never thought I would like sewing with knit fabric, but Clover CL converted me!!)

What’s your favourite Clover print (you can’t say all of them 😉):

Haha, how did you know I’d say all of them?! Pretty easy for me though – Isla. This print will forever hold a special place in my heart, it was named after my youngest daughter who was born the same day this was designed! I honestly still get all the feels when I work with it or see a picture of it made up.

If you have a business, how can we order from you?

At the moment the best way to order through me is via DM on my Instagram account (or Facebook). I am currently looking at website/marketplace options.
